This week’s plane of the week is very unique, as it will be the first ever VL3 in New Zealand. It begins its journey, from our production facility to Auckland, today and holds the serial number #466.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to expand our fleet to the other side of the world. I am sure that our customers over there will appreciate their beautiful country even more from above when it’s seen from the pilot seat of a Vl3.” commented Jean Marie Guisset, the CEO of JMB Aircraft.
Adding to the uniqueness of this aircraft are the avionics. There must be a first time for everything, and the prop controller you see is connected to an Airmaster prop. It’s the first one ever installed on a Vl3, and we’re curious to see how it will manage the mountainous New Zealand terrain.
Due to the quality of maps for New Zealand, Dynon was the only choice for avionics. SkyView HDX-1100 touch is the flagship avionics system from Dynon. SkyView HDX features improved displays, beautiful design, unrivalled control ergonomics, and an upgraded touch interface. It’s nice to see something a little different in a VL3.
